Piano Lessons

Though most who take lessons do not become professional musicians, studying music has lasting benefits which are extremely useful to ones problem solving, critical thinking, and humanity. Having taken piano pedagogy classes at the graduate level, and having taught private lessons for over a decade, I have the academic training and experience your child needs to practice art meaningfully. I enjoy getting to know each student individually, in order to develop a meaningful bond with my students, and to design a customized musical and artistic journey. I emphasize improvisation, creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking!

In a changing culture with technological advances causing one’s attention to shift moment to moment at endless stimuli, I believe practicing music is perhaps more important than ever. In addition to cognitive benefits demonstrated in countless neuroscientific studies, children and teenagers can learn how to practice, build, and master a skill, increase focus abilities and attention span, improve creativity, and enjoy making art through taking music lessons.

I teach piano lessons, along with songwriting lessons, from my home in Saint Paul. Please contact me at 952-220-5233 with questions about, or interest in, starting lessons!
